Get Involved!

There are many ways to get involved with the Edgewood Community Garden. Whether you are seeking volunteer or internship opportunities, looking to become a partner or making a gift to support our program, we welcome your participation and support.

Be a Garden Volunteer!

Come be a part of your community and get out in nature, right in the city! Edgewood Community Garden is conveniently located near the metro stop of Rhode Island on the red line. See how to get here.
Volunteer Groups
We host volunteer groups at the garden during the growing season. Groups we host include, but are not limited to: colleges and universities, not-for-profit organizations, churches, and businesses.
Participants engage in garden tasks (planting, harvesting, weeding, etc.) and learn about sustainable agriculture and our food system through educational games and discussions. This is a great team-building and bonding experience for groups and a meaningful way to contribute towards urban agriculture and healthy food access in our neighborhood.
We host groups of up to 15 people and ask for a donation of $5 per person to help sustain our programs. Please contact us if you cannot afford to make a donation.
Throughout the growing season (April - October), we host volunteer groups on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30am to 5:00pm. Schedule your garden visit here.

Drop-In Volunteers

We welcome interested individuals to join us during our open hours to volunteer at the garden. Come once to try it out or come regularly - any time the garden is open, volunteers are invited to roll up their sleeves and join in!
Garden work varies almost as much as the weather and as a Drop-In Volunteer, you may be asked to do anything from planting seeds and weeding to building. Our staff is always available to offer guidance and answer questions along the way.
See you at the garden!
